Google Sketchup Models

Before I started college, I always had an appreciation for buildings and architecture.  While I never pursued a career in architecture, I still love to do 3D modeling of buildings.  When I worked in Washington, DC, I found myself looking at the buildings and how they were designed or different aspects of their design.

When I first learned of Google’s free 3D modeling tool called Google Sketchup, I was immediately intrigued.  After using it a bit, I am amazed at just how simple it is to get started.  I read books, listened to podcasts, and watched instructional videos to learn how to build models of everyday buildings.

Since then, I’ve used Sketchup to model buildings, including my own house, create plans for building things, etc.
